If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

22-04-20 Annalize is a 11 year old Northern Inuit Cross who originally came to us from a breeder quite some time ago. Poor Annalize has had a tough time, when she arrived with us we discovered that not only was she completely blind, but she was also pregnant. She moved straight to a foster home to raised her babies and recieve some much needed TLC. Sadly, she recently developed an ulcer in one eye and had to have it removed - but she is so much happier following this.
When Annalize arrived her fur was matted and her skin was red raw, but with time and love from her fosterers she is now looking amazingly fluffy again and her skin has healed. Annalize will need another kind resident dog in her new home and owners who are around all of the time.

Annalize will need a sweet, gentle and calm dog friend companion or companions. She also lives with two cats. Annalize is a beautiful old girl who lived her life on a chain. Her temperament is sweet as can be. She is gentle and loving too. Whether it's her breed or spending her time on a chain - she does not like being confined, whether that is in one room, or a stair gate closed or you holding on to her to stop her from going somewhere. She is a free spirit and extremely stubborn, as anyone who has owned a husky type breed will understand, and to be totally honest - its not easy to handle a husky who doesn't want to do something - leave alone a blind one. She hates being crated and gets extremely stressed if in one, so we do not crate her here ever.
She will walk on a harness, but she does not like it if it's left on for a long time indoors, we left it on overnight to help us manoeuvre her around after her eye removal and found she had chewed through it overnight. She would not accept a cone on after her eye op either at the vets, she is very clear on what's a NO! We always use harnesses for the dogs here, but especially for her - as her neck was raw from the chain she had lived on when she arrived in rescue and so she dislikes her neck being pressured. Her neck has healed well but she doesn't like you touching it too much.
Annalize is totally blind and has been since being rescued over a year ago, but after treating her with meds to reduce pressure every now and again in her eye which has been working for her - she developed a ulcer in her eye and it was not responding to the meds either this time, so we all felt even given her age - she had to have the eye removed, and boy is she happier now! Her other eye at present seems ok but any adopter will need to be aware that she may need medication or even the other eye removed at some point .
Annalize isn't a dog that manages brilliantly being blind to be honest, so you will need to consider if you have the time, patience and dedication to help her manoeuvre around safely every day. She is not totally house trained in that she does go to the toilet in the night indoors. She will go outside to the toilet throughout the day, and when you tell her " on the grass " but she does have accidents sometimes - in the day, but is kind enough to come find you to tell you!
She is extremely sweet in temperment and such a beautiful girl inside and out, she truly deserves a 5* home. Lastly where Annalize is now in foster there is always someone here in at home, and she would not manage being left alone from her humans. As she's blind she could easily hurt herself if she got stressed and started wandering round , so please only apply if you can fulfill all the points above.
She is indeed striking, cute and fluffy but please remember she needs a specific home .

11-06-20 UPDATE
Annalize's eye has healed and I'm sure she feels much better without the pain she had before she had it removed. Annalize still likes to get up really early in the morning, she's actually the first one up and insists everyone else gets up then too, and she doesn't take no for an answer! She paces and whines and if that doesn't work immediately then she will bark till you get up! Being a husky type dog she is very strong willed so you need lots and lots of time and patience with her. She has to be watched when in the garden not only because of keeping her from hurting herself but she digs gigantic holes in the garden in seconds! Annalize is a lovely old girl who needs a specific home for her safety and - happiness.

17-08-20 UPDATE
Annalize has been finding this very hot weather hard, especially at night . Annalize always wanders a little at night as she gets hot and unsettled, but this hot spell is even harder for her, she has to have windows open and a fan on all night to cope bless her.
She continues to be much happier since her eye was removed though, but she still is not braver being blind sadly, or even better at manoeuvering around.
Annalize takes a lot of care and commitment and that only stops one way or another when she's sleeping! She is very very - lucky to have been rescued for her retirement as she needs a specific home. If you think that could be you please read all of her profile before applying .

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

All dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
