22-08-2019 Quincy is a 4 year old ex breeding beagle. She is a very sweet girl but does back away from you when you enter the kennel and flinches slightly when touch her however she is fine to be picked up. Once she is used to you Quincy will stand patiently next to you and is quite enquisitive so in time we think she is going to make a great companion. Quincy will need a resident dog or dogs to help her gain confidence, learn about house training and to help her walk on a lead.

26-09-19 UPDATE

Quincy is an absolutely lovely girl! Although a bit nervous when she first meets you, when she gets to know you, as soon as you go in her kennel she will come over to say hello!
She is becoming quite affectionate and enjoys her fuss. She has been learning all about wearing a harness and is doing so well, she will even lift her front leg ready sometimes.
Yesterday she went out on a lead and her harness for the first time and she did so so well! With more and more practice I'm sure she will become a natural and will love going for long, exciting walks!
She will need another dog at home to help her to continue her learning.

28-101-19 UPDATE

Quincy has been in foster with us for one week now. What a little poppet! I had no idea what fantastic little dogs Beagles are! She is so friendly and quickly settled in well with the other two dogs. She is inquisitive and comes quite close to you watching everything that is going on!
Quincy loves a tickle under her chin, is really chilled and easy to handle and rolls over for a tummy rub! Although understandably still a little nervous if you move too quickly. She walks well on harness and lead for a fair distance, enjoying a good old sniff. Will stop and watch cars pass but not scared. Greets other dogs cautiously but nicely and has enjoyed a stroke from children on walks.
Quincy sleeps all night with the other dogs, each in their own beds in our little spare room. We are 95% there with toilet training (goes through the night)!! We have already been able to leave her in the kitchen with our other dogs for 2-3 hours quite happily. Quincy will make someone a very special, low maintenance family dog!

19-11-19 UPDATE

The gorgeous Quincy is looking evening more gorgeous now she has lost a bit of weight! She is a happy little dog and is loving living in a nice warm family home!
House trained, sleeps all night and loves her walks and a cuddle on the sofa when she is invited. Quincy enjoys racing around the garden with my dog (see video). She is such a little character and very friendly with dogs we meet on walks, and is used to cars, cyclists/joggers.
She has been left with my dog for up to 3 hours quite happily. Quincy is ready to find her forever home with an active family with older children, and another fun dog to chase round the garden, so please put in an application for this wonderful little girl!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

ADOPTION DETAILS - QUINCY IS BY DONATION

Although QUINCY is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, we ask for a minimum donation of £100 to help cover the costs that have been incurred. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
