08-08-20 Lucy is a sweet cross breed who has come all the way from Romania to find a loving, safe home. We are told she was owned by an elderly gentleman but when he passed away  his relatives did not want to take Lucy so turfed her out. This said, Lucy seems more at ease with women than with men at the moment but we will work with her on this. She doesnt yet know how to walk on a lead and it's been a while since she has lived indoors so she would hugely benefit from a kind dog in her new home to help her adjust and settle. She is a really lovely girl who has so much potential. She has a mildly slipping patella but this should improve with some exercise to build the muscles in her legs. She has a passport.

18-08-20 UPDATE

Lucy is a very special girl and we’re looking for a special forever home for her. You’ll need experience working with tricky dogs, and must be willing to put the effort in. Lucy has been picky with who she likes and doesn’t like. She definitely prefers women to men, but that is something we’re working on with her. She has also been known to guard a couple of things from certain members of staff. I’ve been working with her from the day she came in, and I’ve never had a problem with her. I can handle her and take anything away from her with no issues whatsoever. She is also like this with a few other members of staff. So when she trusts you, she’s an absolute sweetheart of a dog. She’s extremely affectionate - loves a cuddle and a kiss, and I think she’ll be a lap dog in a home environment.
She can be an only dog, and she can’t be re-homed with children. As mentioned before, her new owners will need experience working with tricky dogs and will need to know what to do if she ever acts up. She’s a complex little girl, but she is really amazing when she knows you and trusts you. So please keep her in mind, and don’t just scroll past her because she has some issues.

29-08-20 UPDATE

Lucy is a 6 year old female cross breed who'se come all the way from Romania to find her forever family and home... Isn't she just Beautiful!?!
She has the most beautiful, big, sparkly, round eyes, beautiful big ears to match, and when happy, gives us the most wonderful, big smile that lights up any room, or infact, lights up anyone, and anywhere she is! ... She is also a lovely, compact, manageable size.
From the very first day she met many a staff member, she became their very best friend... Lucy is a very friendly, waggy, loyal, affectionate girl, who is desperate for her forever Mum to find her and take her on lots of adventures! She seems to be aware of the World outside of kennels - and is always wanting to be out of her kennel and either have some time in the sandschool, or better still - go on a nice big walk! She walks wonderfully on the lead and is at her most happiest when out and about with her human friends. Now and again she also loves having a good sprint around the sandschool, chasing a ball! And she is so very fun to watch! She makes us all smile, laugh and basically makes us all very happy! Lucy would definitely need an active home and have plenty of adventures, as well as cuddles - she is very good at giving cuddles! She stands on her back legs, gazes lovingly at us and smiles! She is rather funny and cute
I myself find her very easy to work with, as does many a staff member... For example, she is confident, easy to handle, walks on a lead, is pretty much kennel clean - as long as she can go out on a regular basis, is good with other dogs, but can easily be homed as an only dog, the list goes on! However, she has apparently been known to be fussy with who she allows to be her human friends, and has in the past guarded a few things, so for this reason we are looking for an adult only home for her.
If you love the look and sound of our Lucy, please put in an application for her. Whoever adopts our Lovely Lucy, will be so very lucky. She is going to make the perfect companion for someone...

ADOPTION DETAILS
If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
